Which contaminant risks should feed buyers discuss with suppliers?

The risk assessment may consider heavy metals, mycotoxins, dioxins, pesticides, microbiological hazards, cross-contamination and undesirable botanical or chemical substances, depending on materials and origin. Testing should be risk-based, with defined methods, limits and frequency—not a fixed list copied to every product. Buyers should also ask how nonconforming lots are quarantined, investigated and prevented from entering commerce.
